Lecture 32                               SANCTIFICATION: ITS INITIATION

 

 

羅8﹕30

預先所定下的人又召他們來。所召來的人，又稱他們為義。所稱為義的人，又叫他們得榮耀。

Romans 8:30

and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.

-- 這節經文沒有提到成聖。這裏保羅講述從永遠到永遠的救贖大工。

-- This verse omits sanctification.  Here, the application of redemption is viewed from eternity to eternity. 

 

  1. 成聖的主動。Initiation for Sanctification

 

  1. 成聖是上帝的工作。Sanctification is a Work of God.

上帝救贖的次序 (ordo salutis) 並沒有在成聖這一環被割斷。

The chain of ordo salutis is not broken at sanctification.

可是，與信心和悔改一樣，我們都有份參與。

But, parallel to faith and repentance, we take part.

 

(a) 成聖是聖父的工作﹕

Sanctification is a work of God the Father:

弗1﹕4

就如上帝從創立世界以前，在基督裏揀選了我們，使我們在祂面前成為聖潔，無有瑕疵。

Eph. 1:4

just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love

 

帖前4﹕3

上帝的旨意就是要你們成為聖潔，遠避淫行。

I Thess. 4:3

For this is the will of God, your sanctification; {that is,} that you abstain from sexual immorality;

 

帖前4﹕7-8

7 上帝召我們，本不是要我們沾染污穢，乃是要我們成為聖潔。

8 所以那棄絕的，不是棄絕人，乃是棄絕那疵聖靈給你們的上帝。

I Thess. 4:7-8

7 For God has not called us for the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification.

8 So, he who rejects {this} is not rejecting man but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you.

 

帖前5﹕23

願賜平安的上帝，親自使你們全然成聖。又願你們的靈，與魂，與身子，得蒙保守，在我主耶穌基督降臨的時候，完全無可指摘。

I Thess. 5:23

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

 

來13﹕21

在各樣善事上，成全你們，叫你們遵行祂的旨意，又藉著耶穌基督在你們心裏行祂所喜悅的事。願榮耀歸給祂，直到永永遠遠。阿們。

Hebrews 13:21

equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom {be} the glory forever and ever. Amen.

 

(b) 成聖是聖子耶穌基督的工作。

Sanctification is a work of Jesus Christ:

 

多2﹕14

祂為我們捨了自己，要贖我們脫離一切罪惡，又潔淨我們，特作自己的子民，熱心為善。

Titus 2:14

who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

 

約17﹕17

求你永真理使他們成聖。你的道就是真理。

John 17:17

“Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.

 

約17﹕19

我為他們的緣故，自己分別為聖，叫他們也因真理成聖。

John 17:19

“For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.

 

弗5﹕25-27

25 你們作丈夫的，要愛你們的妻子，正如基督愛教會，為教會捨己，

26 要用水藉著道，把教會洗淨，成為聖潔，

27 可以獻給自己，作個榮耀的教會，毫無沾污皺紋等類的病，乃是聖潔沒有瑕疵的。

Eph. 5:25-27

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,

26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of ater with the word,

27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.

 

來13﹕12

所以耶穌， 要用自己的血叫百姓成聖，也就在門外受苦。

Heb. 13:12

Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate.

 

(c.) 成聖是聖靈的工作。

Sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit:

 

帖後2﹕13

主所愛的弟兄們啊，我們本該為你們感謝上帝。因為祂從起初揀選了你們，叫你們因信真道，又被聖靈感動成為聖潔，能以得救。

II Thess. 2:13

But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.

 

彼前1﹕1-2

1 耶穌基督的使徒彼得，寫信給那分散在本都， 加拉太，加帕多家，亞西亞，庇推尼寄居的，

2 就是照父上帝的先見被揀選，藉著聖靈得成聖潔，以致順服耶穌基督，又蒙祂血所灑的人。遠恩惠平安，多多的加給你們。

I Peter 1:1-2

1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who reside as aliens, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, who are chosen

2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure.

           

      平衡經文﹕弗1﹕13-14

13 你們既聽見真理的道，就是那叫你們得救的福音，也信了基督，既然信祂，就受了所應許的聖靈為印記。             

14 這聖靈，是我們得基業的憑據，直等到上帝之民被贖，使祂的榮耀得著稱讚。

Parallel: Eph. 1:13-14

13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation--having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,

14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of {God's own} possession, to the praise of His glory.

 

羅8﹕13-14

13 你們若順從肉體必要死。若靠著聖靈治死身體的惡行必要活著。

14 因為凡被上帝的靈引導的，都是上帝的兒子。

Rom. 8:13-14

13 for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

           

      了解這項事實的實際好處﹕

Practical value of appreciating this fact:

指人到我們信心創始成終的那位﹕當我們面對自己的時候，不要失望；我們要仰望主，而得到鼓勵。

It points people to the source, the captain of our salvation; not to be discouraged when we look to ourselves; but be encouraged when we look to God. 

 

  1. 成聖以與罪斷絕開始。

Sanctification begins with a definite breach with sin. 

成聖與稱義不可分開。

Sanctification is inseparable from justification.

林前1﹕30

但你們得在基督耶穌裏，是本乎上帝，上帝又使祂成為我們的智慧，公義，聖潔，救贖。

I Cor. 1:30

But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,

-- 基督是我們的義（稱義的根據），基督是我們的聖潔（成聖的根據），基督是我們的救贖。

-- Christ is our justification, our sanctification, our redemption. 

 

來13﹕12

所以耶穌， 要用自己的血叫百姓成聖，也就在門外受苦。

Heb. 13:12

Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate.

-- 基督以祂的血使我們成聖。

-- Christ sanctified us with His blood.

上帝呼召我們 -> 我們與基督聯合 -> 向罪死（罪不再作王，6﹕14），在基督裏得生命（確定的成聖）。

CALLING -> UNION WITH CHRIST -> Death to Sin (dethronement of sin, Romans 6:14), Life in Christ (= definitive sanctification) 

 

重生 -> 信心 -> 基督，藉著內住的聖靈 -> 成聖（羅7﹕22）

REGENERATION -> FAITH -> Christ, through the Holy Spirit (indwells) -> holiness (Romans 7:22)

 

 

羅6﹕14

罪必不能作你們的主。因你們不在律法之下，乃在恩典之下。

Romans 6:14

For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

           

      羅7﹕22

因為按著我裏面的意思，我是喜歡上帝的律。

Romans 7:22

For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man,

 

被重生的人不犯罪，也不能犯罪。

The regenerate man does not sin, and cannot sin. 

 

約壹3﹕9

凡從上帝生的，就不犯罪，因上帝的道存在他心裏。他也不能犯罪，因為他是由上帝生的。

I John 3:9

No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

 

約壹5﹕18

我們知道凡從上帝生的必備不犯罪。從上帝生的必保守自己，那惡者也就無法害他。

I John 5:18

We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.

 

不要誤解（過分簡化）這真理。

Do not take this simplistically. 

信徒的確犯罪。

Believers DO sin.

我們需要約壹1﹕8-10的提醒。 

I John 1:8-10 – may not be appropriate.

約壹1﹕8-10

8 我們若說自己無罪，便是自欺，真理不在我們心裏了。

9 我們若認自己的罪，上帝是信實的，是公義的，必赦免我們的罪，洗淨我們一切的不義。

10 我們若說自己沒有犯過罪，便是以上帝為說謊的。祂的道也不在我們心裏了。

8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

           

約壹2﹕1

我小子們啊，我將這些話寫給你們，是要叫你們不犯罪。若有人犯罪，在父那裏我們有一位中保，就是那義者耶穌基督。

I John 2:1

My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;

 

約壹4﹕1-4

1 親愛的弟兄阿，一切的靈，你們不可都信。總要試驗那些靈是出於上帝不是。因為世上有許多假先知已經出來了。

2 凡靈認耶穌基督是成了肉身來的，就是出於上帝的。從此你們可以認出上帝的靈來。

3 凡靈不認耶穌，就不是出於上帝。這是那敵基督者的靈。你們從前聽見牠要來。現在已經在世上了。

4 小子們哪，你們是屬上帝的，並且勝了他們。因為那在你們裏面的，比那在世界上的更大。

I John 4:1-4

1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God;

3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the {spirit} of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.

4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

 

-- 我們要注意﹕

(a.) 與罪隔絕﹕確定的，實在的，實際上，不只是有隔絕的潛能，不只是暫定的。

Breach with sin = definitive, actual, practical, not just provisional, potential.  Not worked up (perfectionism).

(b.)  勝過罪，是所有信徒都擁有的，不只是給一些信徒（第二次祝福）。

Victory belongs to all believers, not just to some (2nd blessing). 

(c.)  不只是與我們知道的罪隔絕，而是與罪的權勢隔絕。

   Breach is not only with known sin, but from the power of sin.

 

  1. 重生與確定的成聖有什麼不同？

What is the difference between regeneration and definitive sanctification? 

它們可分辨，但不要孤立它們。

They are distinguishable, but not isolated. 
兩者同時發生。

Both occur simultaneously.

從靈所生 / 就是靈。

Born of Spirit / being spirit. 

 

法律上被定罪 -> 墮落

JUDICIAL CONDEMNATION -> DEPRAVITY

 

不再被定罪 -> 除去墮落的人性﹕

（稱義）          （確定的成聖）

NO CONDEMNATION -> REMOVAL OF MORAL DEPRAVITY:

(Justification)                               (Definitive Sanctification)

迎接將來最後的審判

ANTICIPATION OF FINAL JUDGMENT
